As part of Apple's 50th anniversary celebrations, CEO Tim Cook offered a rare glimpse into the company's archives, revealing he had never seen many of the historical prototypes and documents himself. The tour, documented in a Wall Street Journal video, showcased treasures including Apple's first patent for the Apple-II and early development artifacts.

Cook examined the original iPod prototype, noting the revolutionary concept of carrying "thousands of songs in your pocket" when he first joined Apple. He shared the iPhone development board, significantly larger than the final product, admitting even he doubted they'd sell billions of units. The CEO described both product design and supply chain creation as "very difficult" challenges.

When pressed about Apple's future, Cook hinted at products at the "intersection of hardware, software, and services." He deftly avoided questions about specific failures while showcasing an early Apple Watch prototype. Cook expressed gratitude for everyone who has been part of Apple's journey, calling the company's growth from its humble beginnings "chilling."
