Anthropic debuts Claude Tag Slack integration for enterprise teams

Anthropic rolled out Claude Tag, a beta collaboration tool that lets enterprise and team customers embed its Claude AI directly into Slack channels. The AI appears as a team member, can be granted access to specific channels and linked to any tools, data sets, or codebases the organization chooses. Tag enables users to @Claude to assign tasks while they continue other work, and improve overall productivity across teams.

The feature builds on Claude Code, which Anthropic has used internally all year; internal data shows Claude now writes roughly 65 % of the product team’s code, including the code that powers Tag itself. Tag retains context across conversations, can schedule future tasks, and offers an “ambient” mode that acts proactively when enabled. This capability positions Claude as a central hub for AI‑driven development within large organizations.

Claude Tag replaces the older Claude‑in‑Slack integration, which will retire on August 3. By giving every team member the same AI instance, Anthropic aims to streamline multi‑user workflows and reduce the friction of switching between separate bots. Enterprises adopting the beta gain a unified assistant that can learn from channel history and automate routine assignments. Early adopters report faster ticket resolution and clearer documentation.
