Indian farmer Bir Virk has revolutionized his potato harvesting by implementing AI-powered tractors on his farm near Karnal. The automated system, which costs approximately $3,864, uses satellite signals and AI-driven software to plant seeds, spray fertilizer, and harvest crops with 0.01-centimeter accuracy. Virk reports that the technology has cut his work time in half while maintaining the agricultural traditions of his family.

Meanwhile, in New Delhi, educator Swetank Pandey has transformed his civil services coaching academy by employing AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. These algorithms scan and grade handwritten exam papers, evaluate tens of thousands of answer sheets in 20-25 minutes, and create targeted study materials. Pandey's hybrid approach combines AI efficiency with teacher oversight, producing study content that students find more relatable than traditional materials.

India's AI adoption comes as global tech giants invest heavily in the country's digital infrastructure. Microsoft recently announced a $17.5 billion investment over four years, following Google's $15 billion commitment that includes plans for its first AI hub in India. However, the country faces challenges including limited access to advanced semiconductor chips and the complexity of supporting hundreds of local languages. While companies like Tata Consultancy Services have cut over 12,000 jobs due to AI-driven shifts, early adopters like Virk and Pandey demonstrate how the technology is already making work faster and more efficient across sectors.
