A Wisconsin teenager who killed his parents to fund a plot to assassinate President Donald Trump using a drone has been sentenced to life in prison. Nikita Casap, 18, pleaded guilty to murdering his mother, Tatiana Casap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, in 2025. Prosecutors dropped seven other charges in a plea deal.

Casap shot his parents in their Waukesha home around February 11, 2025, and lived with their decomposing bodies for two weeks. He stole $14,000 in cash, jewelry, passports, and his stepfather's gun before fleeing across the country. Federal authorities say Casap planned to buy a drone and explosives to kill Trump, then escape to Ukraine.

Judge Ralph Ramirez sentenced Casap to two life terms with no possibility of parole, calling the crimes 'horrific' and 'inexplicable.' Prosecutors argued Casap was too dangerous to ever be released, citing his obsession with violent websites and detailed assassination plans. His defense attorney requested mercy, saying Casap became radicalized after seeing news of a German Christmas market attack.
