Ohio billionaire Les Wexner told the U.S. House Oversight Committee he was 'conned' by Jeffrey Epstein, denying any knowledge of the financier's crimes during testimony at his New Albany estate. Wexner said he was 'naive, foolish, and gullible' to trust Epstein, who he claims 'conned' him from the start while posing as a financial adviser.

Wexner detailed how Epstein initially refused compensation and presented himself as helping as a favor, only to later betray his trust. The L Brands founder said he completely cut ties with Epstein in 2007 after learning of his criminal conduct, though recently released emails show the two corresponded in 2008. He emphasized he never witnessed Epstein with minors and only visited Epstein's island once with his family.

Wexner has been named as a potential co-conspirator in recently released Justice Department documents, though he maintains he was never a participant in Epstein's illegal activities. The committee traveled to Wexner's Ohio mansion for the closed-door deposition after originally subpoenaing him to Washington, D.C. While Wexner has never been charged with a crime, the testimony marks another chapter in the ongoing scrutiny of his relationship with the convicted sex offender.
