The Justice Department has released the names of three people the FBI once called co-conspirators of Jeffrey Epstein after lawmakers complained about improper redactions. The unredacted document, originally from August 2019, identified Les Wexner, the former CEO of Victoria's Secret, as a co-conspirator, along with Lesley Groff, Epstein's longtime secretary, and the late modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel. The release came after Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna criticized the department's handling of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Massie and Khanna had visited the Justice Department to review unredacted versions of the files, leading to the unredaction of Wexner's name. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that Wexner's name already appears thousands of times in the files and that the department is hiding nothing. The document also lists Ghislaine Maxwell, the only person charged and convicted in connection with Epstein, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Four other names on the document remain redacted, with prosecutors indicating some were victims who cooperated with investigators. Wexner's legal representative stated that prosecutors told them in 2019 that Wexner was neither a co-conspirator nor a target. The release of these names has reignited scrutiny of Epstein's network and the handling of related investigations.
