The latest Market Talks covering Energy and Utilities focused on E.ON. Deutsche Bank analysts James Brand and Olly Jeffery noted that the German energy company’s first‑half results contain no surprises, setting it up strongly to meet or even exceed its full‑year guidance. Shares closed Tuesday at 19.02 euros.

Jefferies analysts Ahmed Farman and Arturo Murua reported that E.ON is well on its way to achieving its full‑year adjusted net income target, having reached around 68% of the mid‑point of guidance, which is 2.8 billion euros. Over the past three years the company has earned an average of about 1 billion euros extra in the second half, indicating that the upper end of its guidance of 2.9 billion euros looks within reach. Shares again closed at 19.02 euros.

New Zealand‑based fuel importer Channel Infrastructure lost a bullish rating from Macquarie, which downgraded it to neutral from outperform due to valuation concerns despite a strong investment case. The stock is up 0.6% at 8.25 NZD, versus NZ$2.12 a year ago, and Macquarie notes further upside if execution catches up after a strong re‑rating. The Middle East conflict has recently fanned local fuel storage importance.

Overall, the market sees E.ON solidly on track while Channel Infrastructure faces a cautious outlook, reflecting broader energy sector dynamics.
