The seven-hour journey along the Theodore Roosevelt Expressway offers no rest stops, service areas, or fast-food restaurants with bathrooms, making it a challenge for drivers.

MoneySuperMarket researchers analyzed geospatial data and OpenStreetMap API information to determine this bathroom-free zone. The study found that 31 percent of drivers experience "toilet anxiety," a medical condition causing stress about restroom availability and cleanliness during long trips. This affects concentration and can make extended road trips particularly difficult for affected travelers.

While small towns along the route offer potential detours for bathroom breaks, urinating along the roadside is illegal in all 50 states, carrying fines between $50 and $500. The study's findings highlight how modern navigation apps and connected car services can help drivers plan rest stops in advance, potentially reducing stress for those with restroom anxiety.
