A Ukrainian drone strike ignited fires at Russia's Black Sea port of Taman on Sunday, wounding two people and damaging oil storage facilities just days before U.S.-brokered peace talks in Geneva. The attack targeted Russia's oil export infrastructure, which Ukraine views as critical to funding Moscow's war effort.

Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that the strike damaged an oil storage tank, warehouse, and terminals in the Krasnodar region port. Meanwhile, falling debris from Russian drones disrupted power and water supplies in Ukraine's Odesa region. These attacks come as both sides prepare for negotiations marking the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion on February 22.

At the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed concerns about future security guarantees and questioned U.S. proposals for a free trade zone in the Donbas region. Senator Jeanne Shaheen warned that without real security guarantees, Russia could renew hostilities. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas emphasized that Europe must maintain control over sanctions decisions, stating that sustainable peace requires concessions from both sides.
