A University of Georgia professor has been removed from campus after an undercover sting operation caught him allegedly messaging someone he believed was a 14-year-old boy. The professor was confronted during class by members of "Street Sweeperz TV," an independent group that tracks potential online predators.

Channel 2's Michael Doudna reported that the group, operating for six months, uses decoy accounts on dating apps to catch adults targeting minors. According to the group's Angelus Pereira, the professor sent explicit photos and videos after conversations turned sexual. The group says he attempted to arrange a meeting in Athens.

UGA students expressed shock and concern about the allegations. "If it really is him, I think he should be kicked out of the university for sure," said student Jack Hinton. Legal experts told Doudna that criminal charges could still be filed if proper procedures were followed. The professor has not been criminally charged, and Channel 2 Action News is withholding his identity pending further developments.
