Trump's Iran Attack Contradicts Earlier Claims

President Trump justified renewed military strikes against Iran by claiming its nuclear program and missile capabilities posed an immediate threat to U.S. security. Speaking at a Medal of Honor ceremony, Trump stated that Iran's ballistic missile program was growing rapidly and would soon have weapons capable of reaching American soil.

This marks the second U.S. attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, following a June strike that Trump claimed had completely destroyed the program. However, Pentagon assessments indicated the attack only set back Iran's nuclear capabilities by months. The White House has not explained the discrepancy between Trump's public statements and military intelligence.

Four American soldiers have died in the conflict, along with over 20 Iranian officials including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump has yet to address the nation about the war, breaking with presidential precedent. The administration's actions come despite Iran's claims of peaceful nuclear intentions and years of inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
