Tempe Police deployed a grappler device to halt a Corvette after a 142-MPH chase through city streets, capturing the dramatic pursuit on body camera footage. The suspect, Mazen Alassmari, was recorded speeding across Mill Avenue Bridge and evading officers before the grappler technology safely ended the dangerous pursuit.

Motorcycle officers initially attempted to stop Alassmari on September 9th after residents flooded 911 with complaints about the roaring C8 Stingray. The driver ran multiple red lights before disappearing, only to repeat the reckless behavior the following evening. Tempe patrol units then utilized the grappler device, which secures a vehicle's rear wheel to bring it to a controlled stop.
