A gun purchase in a Taco Bell parking lot turned violent Sunday evening when two men allegedly robbed a 21-year-old from Clinton, Indiana, according to Lafayette police. The victim had arranged to buy a firearm from the suspects in the parking lot of the restaurant at 2100 South 26th Street.

Police say the transaction went wrong when the would-be sellers pulled a sidearm and took the buyer's money instead. Officers later arrested Keiyon Weaver, 20, and Tyquan Ladale Overall, 19, after finding them with a pistol converted to fire fully automatically. Weaver faces multiple charges including robbery, theft, and possession of a machine gun.

Both suspects were booked into Tippecanoe County Jail without bond. The incident highlights the dangers of private firearm transactions conducted in public spaces, particularly those arranged through informal channels. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attempted gun sale that escalated into armed robbery.
