The Cardona Marine Group has unveiled the Sea-Predator-7, an uncrewed surface vehicle designed to resemble an orca but with far deadlier capabilities. The 13-foot USV can carry over 800 pounds of explosives and features stealth technology including a proprietary ballistic riblet coating that mimics shark skin to reduce detection.

Developed over 15 years, the SP-7 represents a significant advancement in marine drone warfare. It can be deployed from Navy helicopters or tilt-rotor aircraft miles from targets and operates both on the surface and submerged. The drone's modular design allows for various armaments including torpedoes, machine guns, and grenade launchers, with the ability to function as a remotely-operated underwater vehicle for mine-like attacks.

With its electric propulsion system and rapid production capabilities, the SP-7 could transform naval combat operations. The Department of Defense may consider the technology in future defense acquisition contracts, potentially giving the United States a new asymmetric warfare capability against enemy vessels.
