A 44-year-old man faces felony charges after allegedly stalking his ex-wife and causing nearly $100,000 in damage to a Scottsdale luxury condo complex using a slingshot. Jaime Rodriguez is accused of breaking 20 windows at the complex over several months, targeting the unit of his ex-wife's boyfriend.

Police say the harassment extended beyond property damage. Rodriguez reportedly called Bank of America more than 1,700 times to track his ex-wife's spending and locations, and placed an Apple AirTag under her car's hood. The months-long campaign included 21 projectile strikes between May 2025 and January 2026.

Detectives arrested Rodriguez after surveillance footage showed him hopping a wall near the complex. Officers reported hearing what sounded like a slingshot followed by breaking glass. They found two slingshots in his possession and he now faces four counts each of stalking and endangerment. The condo's management says neighbors remain fearful as only five windows have been replaced so far.
