Pittsburgh authorities have recaptured Travell Dean, 31, after he spent five months as a fugitive hiding beneath a bed in McKeesport. The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office tracked Dean to an apartment on Coursin Street, where detectives discovered him concealed under furniture.

Dean had been declared a fugitive in September 2025 for failing to appear at his firearms trial. A second warrant followed in November when he missed a formal arraignment for separate firearm charges. Authorities also issued an escape charge after Dean failed to return to a community corrections organization following a meeting with his attorney.

Detectives located Dean's hiding place last week, executing the arrest on Saturday without incident. He was transported to Allegheny County Jail to face the outstanding warrants. The case highlights ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in tracking individuals with multiple active warrants across different jurisdictions.
