Pentagon Warns of Weapon Shortages in Iran Strikes

Pentagon officials are privately warning that U.S. air defense stockpiles could run out if military strikes against Iran continue for several more weeks. While President Trump has boasted that bombing could last up to four weeks, military leaders are sounding alarms about limited interceptor supplies and the strain on resources.

According to sources, Iran has launched numerous retaliatory attacks despite the U.S. claiming over 1,000 targets have been destroyed. Each Iranian strike requires expensive air defense interceptors that are in limited supply. Rep. Adam Smith described U.S. resources as "stretched thin," noting that pausing operations isn't an option once stockpiles are depleted.

Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine has already cautioned the White House about weapons shortages and limited allied support increasing risks to both the mission and U.S. troops. Three American service members have already been killed with five more critically injured since the campaign began. Without a clearly defined strategy or articulated end goal, lawmakers worry the United States risks sliding into a protracted conflict that contradicts Trump's "no new wars" campaign promises.
