Trump Says Iran Depleted, Open to New Leadership

President Donald Trump told Politico that Iran is running out of weapons and military capacity, claiming the country's arsenal is being "decimated" during ongoing strikes. Speaking in a four-minute phone call, Trump said Iranian forces are exhausting their launchers and ammunition supplies while facing sustained attacks.

Trump's comments came after a Pentagon briefing Monday where officials did not mention Iran's weapon depletion. The president said the U.S. maintains "unlimited" middle and upper-middle ammunition supplies, with defense companies operating under emergency orders to rapidly produce needed equipment. His remarks follow attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh by drones on Tuesday.

Trump suggested the conflict could last four to five weeks or end in days. He also indicated openness to working with a reconfigured Iranian government if senior leaders are killed, noting that 49 leaders have been eliminated and new ones are emerging. Senator Richard Blumenthal warned of potential shortages of THAAD and Patriot systems needed to protect U.S. installations.
