Cranston, Rhode Island, and Dartmouth, Massachusetts, share the title for highest snowfall during the Blizzard of 2026, both recording 37 inches of snow. The two towns edged out Warwick, Rhode Island, which received 36.2 inches, making this one of the most significant winter storms to hit the region in recent years.

The massive snowstorm spanned from Sunday to Tuesday, burying much of the Northeast under heavy snow. Central Islip, New York, recorded 31 inches, while North Stonington, Connecticut, saw 30.8 inches. The storm's impact stretched across 18 states and Washington, D.C., with several locations receiving more than 30 inches of accumulation.

Beyond the record-breaking totals in New England, the blizzard caused widespread disruptions. Emergency services responded to numerous incidents, including a fatal accident in Massachusetts where a man was killed while clearing snow from his car. The storm's intensity and breadth highlight the increasing severity of winter weather events, prompting concerns about infrastructure resilience and emergency preparedness in affected communities.
