A powerful nor’easter has dumped heavy snow across Massachusetts, with some areas receiving over two feet of accumulation. The storm has caused widespread closures and power outages, with Rhode Island’s TF Green Airport recording 32.8 inches, breaking a 1978 record. Blizzard conditions are expected to continue through Monday evening.

Snowfall totals vary significantly across the state, with New Bedford reporting 30 inches and Taunton at 25 inches in Bristol County. Norfolk County communities like Foxborough saw 24.5 inches while Stoughton recorded 23 inches. Some areas received far less, with Amherst in Hampshire County reporting just 6.5 inches.

The National Weather Service continues to update snowfall measurements as the storm progresses. Hundreds of thousands remain without power as strong winds compound the hazardous conditions. This marks the first blizzard to hit Massachusetts in several years, causing major disruptions to transportation and daily life across New England.
