California fire officials announced that the Lavender Fire and 8 Ball Fire are now 100% contained after burning through thousands of acres in the state's drought-stricken regions. The fires, which erupted during extreme heat conditions, threatened multiple communities and forced evacuations in rural areas.

The Lavender Fire, which began in early August, consumed approximately 12,000 acres before containment efforts succeeded. The 8 Ball Fire, a separate blaze that ignited days later, burned through 8,500 acres of dry brush and timberland. Both fires required extensive aerial and ground resources to bring under control.

Fire crews worked around the clock to establish containment lines and protect structures in the path of the advancing flames. The successful containment comes as California continues to face severe wildfire risks during its peak fire season. Officials credit strategic firefighting efforts and favorable weather conditions for the successful containment of both blazes.
