The Department of Labor headquarters has banned Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer's husband, Dr. Shawn DeRemer, after two female employees accused him of sexual assault, according to The New York Times. The incidents allegedly occurred inside the department building, with one encounter captured on security camera footage on December 18.

A Metropolitan Police Department report filed last month details allegations of forced sexual contact at the Labor Department building. The department's sexual assault unit is investigating. After being barred from the building, a restriction notice viewed by the Times stated that if DeRemer attempts to enter, he is to be asked to leave immediately.

The allegations emerge amid a broader investigation into Chavez-DeRemer and two top staffers for alleged misconduct. Her chief of staff Jihun Han and deputy Rebecca Wright were placed on leave amid claims of personal trips paid for with taxpayer dollars. Chavez-DeRemer has also been accused of having an affair with a subordinate and drinking on the job, allegations her husband and the DOL have categorically denied.
