Iran's Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency Reza Najafi accused the United States and Israel of launching airstrikes against the Natanz nuclear facility, contradicting the IAEA's assessment that no nuclear installations have been hit. Speaking at a special IAEA board session in Vienna, Najafi claimed the strikes targeted Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, calling the justification for the attacks a "big lie."

Najafi specifically identified the Natanz site, located 220 kilometers south of Tehran, as the target of the alleged attacks. The facility houses both above- and below-ground laboratories where Iran conducts uranium enrichment. Before recent conflicts, the IAEA reported that Iran used advanced centrifuges at Natanz to enrich uranium up to 60%, just short of weapons-grade levels.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi told the board that the agency has "no indication" that nuclear installations including Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant or Tehran Research Reactor have been damaged. Grossi warned about the dangers of military strikes near operational nuclear facilities and noted no elevated radiation levels have been detected in neighboring countries. Najafi escalated his rhetoric by attacking U.S. President Donald Trump, accusing him of using "deception and disinformation" while seeking a Nobel Peace Prize.
