Hillsdale College announced Friday that Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA and widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, will deliver the commencement address on May 9, 2026. The conservative Christian institution in Michigan selected Kirk following the 2025 shooting death of her husband during a college appearance.

College President Larry Arnn praised Kirk's commitment to continuing her late husband's work, noting her presence at his memorial service drew millions of viewers. Kirk, who holds degrees from Arizona State University and Liberty University, expressed deep appreciation for the honor. She highlighted her husband's admiration for Hillsdale's educational philosophy and online courses.

The commencement ceremony will be closed to the public but available via livestream, according to the college's announcement. This selection continues Hillsdale's pattern of featuring prominent conservative voices at its graduation events.
