Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee that she had no knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's crimes and does not recall meeting him. In a deposition held in Chappaqua, New York, Clinton stated she had 'no idea' about Epstein's or Ghislaine Maxwell's criminal activities, marking a significant moment in the congressional investigation.

Clinton, who is scheduled for two days of questioning, said she had interacted with Maxwell at Clinton Foundation conferences but did not remember meeting Epstein. The depositions come after months of negotiations between the former Democratic power couple and Republican lawmakers, who had threatened contempt of Congress charges. This marks the first time a former U.S. president has been forced to testify before Congress.

While Clinton defended her work combating sex trafficking as Secretary of State, Republicans have focused on Bill Clinton's documented flights with Epstein. The investigation has also examined why previous Justice Department administrations did not pursue federal charges against Epstein after his 2008 Florida plea deal. Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer has pledged extensive questioning of both Clintons, though Democrats have called for similar testimony from President Trump.
