Shark fishing guides in Florida reeled in a massive 1,200-pound great white shark estimated at 12 feet long after an overnight expedition on Navarre Beach. Blaine Kenny and Dylan Wier, owners of Coastal Worldwide, used enormous bait including an 80-pound yellowfin tuna head and a 150-pound swordfish head to attract the massive predator.

After a grueling hour-long battle, the anglers used drone footage to confirm they had hooked a great white shark from shore. The video of the catch, posted January 31, 2024, has drawn over 1.2 million views and turned their personal achievement into a viral sensation. The shark was safely released back into the Gulf waters.

This remarkable catch wasn't their first - Coastal Worldwide previously landed an 11-foot great white off Orange Beach, Alabama, in March 2023. Marine scientists noted such catches are extremely rare, especially from shore. For Kenny, who has dreamed of this moment since starting his fishing career, the Navarre Beach catch represents a pinnacle achievement that few anglers will ever experience.
