Eddie Bauer liquidation hits Boise store

Eddie Bauer, the iconic outdoor retailer, is closing its last Idaho store at Boise Towne Square as part of a bankruptcy liquidation affecting all 175 locations across North America. The closure stems from challenging commercial conditions including reduced discretionary spending on outdoor apparel, persistent inflation, and post-COVID supply chain issues that left many stores operating at sub-optimal levels.

All remaining inventory at the Boise store is now selling at 40-60% off lowest ticketed prices. The company anticipates final closures around Mother's Day in May, though individual stores like Boise's could close earlier if inventory runs out. The last day to redeem gift cards at the Boise location is March 12, 2026, with employees referring all inquiries to corporate headquarters.

While the Boise store's future remains uncertain, the company is accepting bids for any or all of its remaining stores, potentially allowing locations with buyers to remain open. Regardless of physical store closures, Eddie Bauer's e-commerce operations will continue through its separate company, Outdoor 5 LLC in New York, ensuring customers can still purchase online while the brand's intellectual property remains under Authentic Brands Group.
