A DoorDash driver testified in court that he delivered Plan B emergency contraception to former DeRidder, La., mayor Misty Roberts' home shortly after she allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage boy. The driver told jurors he recognized the house from previous trick-or-treating visits and left the package at her door after receiving an order from a customer identified as "Misty C."

Roberts, 43, faces charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile. The alleged victim was 16 years old during a July 2024 party where the assault reportedly occurred. Court proceedings revealed that Roberts resigned as mayor days before turning herself in on August 2024 charges of third-degree rape and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.

Jurors also heard testimony from Roberts' son and nephew, who claimed they witnessed suspicious activity but could not definitively confirm sexual contact. The trial follows multiple delays after an earlier indictment was quashed and a mistrial declared. Court proceedings are set to resume Saturday morning.
