The DOJ clarified no records were withheld due to embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity. Names appear in various contexts, from extensive email contact to mere mentions in unrelated documents.

The release follows recent congressional scrutiny of Bondi's handling of Epstein files, with lawmakers like Jamie Raskin accusing her of leading a "massive Epstein cover-up." The DOJ worked with victim counsel on redactions, which included personally identifiable information and medical files that would constitute "a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy."
