Drew Karedes, a WFXT-TV Boston 25 reporter for nine years, announced his departure from the station this week. Karedes shared the news on Instagram, writing that his chapter at Boston 25 News had come to a close. The reporter joined the Fox affiliate in March 2017 as a general assignment reporter after working at stations in Houston, Las Vegas, and Green Bay.

His announcement follows the Feb. 27 departure of Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz from the station. Karedes, a Northeastern University graduate and North Shore native, began his journalism career at WHDH-TV (7News) in Boston before moving across the country for various reporting positions. He reflected on his career journey in his Instagram post, noting it had been nearly 19 years since he started in Green Bay.

While Karedes did not specify his reasons for leaving, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return to Massachusetts and emphasized the enduring importance of local journalism. The station did not immediately respond to requests for comment about his departure.
