A group of women celebrating a bachelorette party in the Bahamas faced a travel nightmare when their flights home to New York City were canceled due to a historic blizzard. Casey Licari, a 35-year-old mother of two, tells PEOPLE that six of the 10 women decided to rent a minivan in Miami and drive 20 hours back home after all other travel options were sold out.

Casey Licari says the group had been enjoying their trip, participating in boat days, seeing wildlife, and even doing karaoke at Daddy D's NightClub, when they received the cancellation alert from American Airlines during dinner on Saturday evening. With flights, trains, and accommodations fully booked, the women changed their flight destination to Miami and secured the last available rental car in the area.

Despite warnings from Miami Customs officials and an Uber driver who told them they wouldn't make it, the women embarked on their journey, documenting the experience on TikTok. Licari, who had two young children at home with her husband battling a stomach bug, was determined to return as quickly as possible. The group made it safely back to New York, turning what could have been a travel disaster into a memorable adventure with friends they've known their whole lives.
