An Arkansas mother faces multiple charges after her 5-year-old son called 911 when she left him and his two younger siblings home alone. Tyliah Andrews , 22, of Jonesboro, was arrested and charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor after police discovered her children, ages 1, 2, and 5, unsupervised in deplorable conditions.

Police responded to the home around 5:23 a.m. on February 2 after receiving two emergency calls from the eldest child. Officers found the children in a residence with spilled food, garbage scattered throughout, dirty dishes piled in the sink, and live roaches crawling on floors and walls. The home's heat was set to a stiflingly high temperature.

Andrews initially claimed she had left the children with her 14-year-old nephew, but later admitted she left after he arrived. Investigators determined the nephew was not involved in watching the children, as he had been with his mother all night. The children are now in state custody with their grandmother. Andrews remains jailed on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 20.

Quick Fact: Andrews' 5-year-old son told police they had been "home alone all day."
