Idaho Mother Charged in Twins' Deaths

An Idaho mother, Andrea Shaw, faces two counts of first-degree murder after a grand jury indicted her in the deaths of her 18-month-old twins. Authorities allege Shaw suffocated the children in May 2025. This development follows Shaw's public statements on an internet show produced by Children's Health Defense, an organization founded by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., where she claimed her twins died after receiving vaccinations.

Shaw, 23, was arrested and is being held on a $2 million bond. Her defense attorney stated she denies the charges and that the prosecution cannot prove them. Medical experts maintain that the vaccines in question, including hepatitis A, influenza, and DTaP, are safe and effective.

Shaw is also a plaintiff in a federal lawsuit filed by Children's Health Defense against the American Academy of Pediatrics, alleging racketeering related to vaccine safety. The lawsuit describes Shaw as a mother "whose children died following routine vaccinations." The American Academy of Pediatrics has sought dismissal, calling the suit part of a campaign against them.
