Sturm Ruger has reported a profitable second quarter, a significant turnaround from the previous year's loss. The firearms manufacturer posted a profit of $6.98 million, or 43 cents per share, a stark contrast to the $17.22 million loss recorded in the same period last year. Adjusted earnings per share reached 52 cents.

Revenue saw a substantial increase of 19%, climbing to $158.1 million from $132.5 million year-over-year. This growth is attributed to a combination of factors, including heightened product demand, a more favorable product mix, and a 10% increase in the average selling price of their firearms.

The improved financial performance highlights the company's ability to capitalize on the ongoing demand in the firearms market, coupled with enhanced manufacturing efficiency. The average selling price rose to $384, reflecting both market conditions and potentially higher-value product sales.
