Italian aerospace and defense company Leonardo has significantly raised its annual projections for orders, earnings, and cash generation, driven by robust growth in its defense sector during the second quarter. The company now anticipates approximately €28.2 billion in orders for the year, an increase from its previous guidance of about €25 billion and up from €23.8 billion in orders reported last year.

This upward revision follows a strong second-quarter performance across all divisions. Orders surged to €7.26 billion in the quarter, surpassing analyst forecasts of €6.33 billion and significantly higher than the €4.36 billion recorded a year prior. The updated guidance also incorporates the expected contributions from the recent acquisition of Iveco Group’s defense business.

The company's decision to upgrade its targets reflects sustained government spending on security initiatives and the successful integration of new assets into its operations.
