The healthcare company’s revenue rose to $71.67 billion in the second quarter, up from $67.18 billion a year earlier—a 6.6% increase that exceeded analysts’ expectation of $70.14 billion.

Cigna Group lifted its earnings outlook and reported a profit of $1.66 billion, or $6.29 per share, compared with $1.53 billion and $5.71 a year earlier. The lift reflects stronger performance in both its core healthcare services and pharmacy‑benefit solutions.

Adjusted earnings, stripping out one‑time items, were $7.78 a share, beating the Fact Set poll of $7.60 a share and reinforcing the company’s healthy profit trajectory.

The combined growth in healthcare and pharmacy‑benefit businesses has positioned Cigna to maintain momentum in an increasingly competitive sector, prompting analysts to raise their revenue and profit forecasts for the coming quarters.

With the revised outlook, investors anticipate continued growth, and the company’s strengthened balance sheet positions it to invest in technology and expand market share. Analysts expect the upward trend to persist through the next fiscal year.
