Buffett, Gates Split Philanthropy Paths

When Warren Buffett and Bill Gates first announced their intention to give away the bulk of their fortunes, the world watched. Decades later confirms that the pair still plan to donate billions, though they are no longer doing it together.

This year, Buffett broke a two‑decade streak by not contributing Berkshire Hathaway shares to the Gates Foundation. Instead, he redirected his giving to four family foundations and pledged that all his Berkshire shares will be donated to those groups by 2034.

The decision, according to Buffett on CNBC, has nothing to do with a falling friendship or any controversy surrounding Gates' past ties. He described their relationship as a 'wonderful friendship.'

Both magnates remain committed to philanthropy, each following a separate path that reflects their individual priorities and strategies for impact.
