Big Shot Pictures, led by former Paramount chief executive Brian Robbins, has taken a 25% stake in the 68‑year‑old Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise, partnering with Bagdasarian Productions. The family‑entertainment company is set to roll out short‑form digital content later this year and a theatrical film slated for late 2028.

Robbins, who previously ran Nickelodeon and oversaw hits such as "Sonic the Hedgehog" and "PAW Patrol," launched Big Shot Pictures earlier this year. The company has also acquired the Eloise at the Plaza franchise and announced an anime series with popular YouTube creator IShow Speed.

Originally created in 1958, the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise follows the three singing chipmunk brothers—mischievous Alvin, intellectual Simon and adorable Theodore—and their human father‑turned‑manager, Dave. Over nearly 70 years, the Chipmunks have released 38 studio albums, earned more than $1 billion at the box office, and won five Grammys.
