U.S. Futures Rise as Iran Ceasefire Nears End

U.S. futures were mostly higher in early European trading as the dollar slid to a 10‑day low against a basket of currencies. Investors focused on the upcoming U.S. Federal Reserve minutes, which are expected to reveal the committee’s stance on interest rates, and on U.S. consumer sentiment ahead of earnings from Walmart and Home Depot.

The 60‑day memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran expires on Monday, while talks remain stalled. Swissquote analyst Ipek Ozkardeskaya warned that fresh sanctions could pressure Iran back to negotiations, noting that Iran’s recent offensive stance suggests peace is not imminent. Treasury yields fell and gold rose.

European markets opened higher, with the Stoxx 600 up 0.2% and Germany’s DAX hitting a new record. Technology and pharma stocks led the rally; STMicroelectronics jumped 3%, Dutch semiconductor‑equipment maker ASML rose 2.35%, and rival ASM International gained 2.7%. The pharma group Argenx surged about 7.7% after positive trial results.

Asian stocks were largely positive, as investors rotated back into ther artificial‑intelligence names despite Middle East tensions. Japan’s Nikkei rose 0.7%, China’s Shanghai Composite gained 1.4%, and Honghū’s Hang Seng climbed 1.5%.
