Trump Boosts Biofuel Blending, Pushing 60% Rise in Renewable Diesel

President Trump unveiled new biofuel quotas at the White House, raising the blend of biomass‑based diesel by more than 60%. The rule mandates that a larger share of gasoline and diesel sold nationwide must contain crop‑derived biofuel, a move aimed at boosting domestic fuel supply and supporting rural economies today.

Farmers and processors stand to gain as the EPA’s new requirement pushes billions of gallons of biofuel into the supply chain. Companies such as Archer Daniels Midland, Bunge and Cargill, which buy soybeans and corn for fuel and food ingredients, will see higher demand for their crops.

ADM CEO Juan Luciano said the policy could lift the company’s 2026 profits, while the rule is expected to generate $10 billion for rural communities. The higher renewable diesel and gasoline blending targets also aim to reduce dependence on imported oil and improve air quality today.

By tightening blending mandates, the administration forces refiners to incorporate more crop‑derived biofuel, raising demand for soybeans and corn.
