Super Micro Clears Management in Chip Smuggling Probe

Super Micro Computer has concluded an internal investigation into allegations that two employees and a contractor attempted to smuggle Nvidia chips to China. The company announced that senior management was cleared of any wrongdoing related to the alleged scheme.

The investigation, launched after the Wall Street Journal reported on the smuggling claims, examined procurement and export practices within the server manufacturer. Super Micro stated that no evidence was found implicating executives or higher-level officials in the alleged violations.

The firm emphasized its commitment to compliance with U.S. trade regulations and said it has strengthened internal controls to prevent future incidents. The two employees and contractor involved are no longer with the company.

Shares of Super Micro rose modestly following the announcement, as investors reacted positively to the resolution of the uncertainty surrounding the probe.
