Oil Rises After Black Sea Tanker Attacks

Oil rises in early Asian trade amid ongoing supply-disruption concerns. Recent attacks on tankers at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal have once again led to operations being halted in the Black Sea, just days after operations were restarted, two members of TD Securities' Macro Research say in a research report.

The analysts note that this will continue to see Russian crude exports reduced by 1 million-2 million barrels per day compared with June averages. They also warn that the outage could become more prolonged as drone attacks persist.

Front-month WTI crude oil futures are 0.6% higher at $84.07 per barrel, reflecting the market's anxiety over sustained supply constraints.
