Valerie Perrine, the Oscar-nominated actress who captivated audiences as Montana Wildhack in 'Slaughterhouse-Five' and Lex Luthor's moll Eve Teschmacher in 'Superman,' died Monday at her Los Angeles home. She was 82. The cause was complications of Parkinson's disease, diagnosed in 2015, confirmed by her friend and documentary director Stacey Souther.

Perrine's career spanned four decades, featuring nearly 70 film and television credits opposite stars like Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman, and Jack Nicholson. She transitioned from a Playboy Playmate to critical acclaim, winning a Cannes Best Actress award for 'Lenny' and earning an Academy Award nomination in the same category for her performance as Lenny Bruce's wife, Honey. Her breakthrough came in 1972's 'Slaughterhouse-Five,' where she played an adult film star abducted by aliens, a role Time magazine called 'charming, sensual and funny.'.
