Britain’s Foreign Office summoned Iranian ambassador on Tuesday after the Tehran embassy posted a recent Telegram message urging Iranians in the UK to join a Sacrifice for the Homeland campaign. The post, which called for “unity, loyalty and readiness to give lives,” was deemed inflammatory by London officials. The diplomatic protest underscores the strain in UK‑Iran ties amid the wider Middle‑East conflict.

Foreign Minister for the Middle East Hamish Falconer told ambassador Seyed Ali Mousavi that the embassy must stop any communications that could be interpreted as encouraging violence, domestically or abroad. Tehran’s response rejected the allegation, describing the initiative as a purely symbolic expression of patriotism without operational intent. British counter‑terrorism officials have linked recent arson attacks on Jewish sites to possible Iranian proxies.

London’s senior counter‑terrorism coordinator Vicki Evans warned that Iran’s “routine use of criminal proxies” could be manifesting in London’s north‑side neighborhoods, where half of the UK’s 300,000‑strong Jewish community resides. The summons adds diplomatic pressure as the UK monitors Iranian influence while safeguarding domestic security, reinforcing its stance that foreign‑state‑sponsored intimidation will not be tolerated.
