Uber will deploy 50-seat shuttle vans to transport World Cup fans from stadiums to downtown areas in Boston, Dallas, Miami and New York. The service costs $49 from New Jersey to Manhattan, with $45 pricing for other cities. This addresses transportation gaps at venues lacking direct train connections.

Fans face steep travel costs amid already expensive World Cup tickets. The 17-mile MetLife Stadium round-trip train costs $98 with no one-way option available. Official shuttle buses dropped to $20 round-trip after Governor Kathy Hochul intervened with yellow school buses following public outcry.

Uber's initiative complements existing public transit networks while capturing revenue from transportation-challenged venues. Andrew Macdonald, Uber's president and COO, emphasized offering reliable, affordable options through shared shuttles and group rides. The company also plans Uber Max service using 14-seat private vans in select cities.

Booking opens a few days before matches, with some shuttles reserved for day-of purchases. Drop-off locations remain under finalization. This represents a strategic revenue opportunity for Uber during the month-long tournament hosting 48 matches across 16 venues.
