New Yorkers: As Halloween approaches, we are keen to hear your tales of trick-or-treating in the big city. In the suburbs, trick-or-treaters go house to house. In the city, they go door to door.
Was there a sign-up sheet in the elevator, or one overseen by the doorman? A note on the door to show where you could (or couldn’t) knock? A basket on the floor for a take-your-own approach? Did your building forsake trick-or-treating for a party instead? Did anything especially noteworthy happen on your rounds? Share your memories! The deadline for submissions is October 9. We will read every response and reach back out to you if we’re interested in learning more. We will be publishing a selection of the most compelling stories, but we won’t publish any part of your response without following up with you first, verifying your information and hearing back from you.
And we won’t share your contact information outside The New York Times newsroom or use it for any reason other than to get in touch with you.
