A U.S. Secret Service officer has been charged with indecent exposure after police say he was seen masturbating in a Miami hotel hallway. John Spillman, 33, a member of the agency's uniformed division, was in Miami providing security for an event President Trump attended over the weekend. The incident occurred at the DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport & Convention Center.

According to a police report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, Spillman followed a woman from the hotel lobby to her room on the sixth floor. She entered her room "because she was in fear" for her life, then observed Spillman with his pants lowered outside her door. Hotel security alerted police, who arrested him "without any incident." The woman was not identified in the report.

Spillman joined the Secret Service in 2019 and was off duty when the incident occurred—the Trump event had ended the previous day. The agency placed him on administrative leave pending criminal proceedings and an internal investigation. Chief of the uniformed division Richard Macauley called the alleged conduct "unacceptable" and emphasized the agency takes such matters seriously. He's being held on a $1,000 bond with a hearing scheduled for May 27.
