The newly extended Israel-Lebanon cease-fire faced immediate testing on Friday as clashes intensified between both sides. The conflict has killed roughly 2,500 people in Lebanon, along with two civilians and 15 soldiers in Israel. Israel escalated operations by issuing evacuation warnings for the southern Lebanese town of Deir Aames before launching airstrikes. Hezbollah fired rockets from that area toward northern Israel and launched drones at Israeli troops. The group called the truce "not a cease-fire at all" and urged Lebanon's government to halt direct negotiations with Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah of attempting to sabotage peace efforts, affirming military operations would continue. Israeli forces remain deployed across a broad section of southern Lebanon, with officials indicating plans for indefinite occupation. Hundreds of thousands of Lebanese civilians remain displaced from the region.
