Bulgaria's Eurovision win triggered political fallout when Moldova's public broadcaster director resigned after his country's jury awarded Romania only three points instead of twelve. Fans on social media reacted with fury, and presenter Margarita Druta said she was "still shaking" over the score. The backlash forced Vlad Turcanu to step down from Teleradio-Moldova on Monday.

In Poland, two lawmakers publicly demanded answers after Ukraine awarded their act zero points. One politician reminded Ukraine that "there would be no independent Ukraine today" without Polish help. Five countries had boycotted the contest over Israel's inclusion, which finished second. The European Broadcasting Union, which runs the event, declined to comment.

Dean Vuletic, author of a book on Eurovision's political history, called the resignations "rather surprising" and traced bloc voting complaints to the 1960s. Paul Jordan, known as Dr. Eurovision, said politicization "makes a mockery of the juries who do good work."
