Miller campaigned on lowering health care costs and expanding Obamacare coverage. She received millions in support from an AIPAC-tied super PAC but positioned herself as a critic of Prime Minister Netanyahu, drawing parallels between his government and the Trump administration. Despite the super PAC backing, Miller emphasized she wasn't formally endorsed by AIPAC and supports a two-state solution.

The primary marked Jackson's attempt to return to Congress over a decade after resigning amid a corruption scandal that sent him to federal prison. Miller's victory came in a crowded field where AIPAC was seen to influence several Chicago-area Democratic primaries.
